DANCING WITH THE STARS. . .

Like almost every other country, Denmark has it´s own very popular show, called "Vild med dans". . . I´m not going to comment the competition, but I have to say: - the way the Hostess, judges and dancers were dressed last night, surprised me. . .

I wonder where their sense of style were ? Normally the Hostess, Christiane Schaumburg- Müller looks great, but the long t-shirt dress in snakeprint and rows of feathers by danish designer Benedikte Utzon, did not do her any jus- tice at all. But as always, it is a matter of taste.

The two male judges looked quite okay, except for the jacket Nikolaj Hübbe wore. It looked too tight and bad quality.
Jens Werner looked elegant, but when you looked at the details, the suit  looked like it was made in China. Recogniceable by the way the Lapel was pressed flat.

The Show has a team of dressmakers attached. But for once six designers from Denmark were assigned to design dresses for one of the dances.

I have to say, it showed. I was not impressed. The dresses looked more like designer-dresses than real dancingdresses. But from experience I know that they are not the easiest task to do either.

"SAY YES TO THE DRESS"

-Is a TLC reality series which follows events at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City and together with "What Not to wear", programs I´ve been watching while in Montreal. But now TLC appears here in Denmark too, as a program you can select, after a free viewing period.

It´s funny to watch as a proffessional, because you get a glimpse of how things works over there.
Watching the first one from the famous bridalshop today, made me wonder about how woman shop for their weddinggown. . .

Women wants to feel very special on their weddingday. So a One-of-a-kind dress should be their first choice.
But I guess most women wants a big selection to choose from and that is what Kleinfeld´s is offering. They have the largest and finest selection of designer wedding gowns in the world. Of course that´s a great, but also a difficult option, if you don´t know what you want.

In case you do, I can make The One-of-a-kind weddingdress that you want. Just give me a call and make an appointment without any obligation.

STYLING. . .

- Is essential these days! It´s all about appearence. . .To make a good impres- sion and get noticed.

Celebreties often use proffessional stylists to look as good as possible. But with a sense of style and a little imagination you can look as good. You just have to make up your mind and consider what suits you.

Of course it depends on the occasion, but it doesn´t take more than a few accessories to be stylish. Add a nice belt, shoes, jewellery,  a bag, a hat or a scarf that fits your outfit and makes you stand out.

Here is a few classical examples with Style Icon, Audrey Hepburn, for inspi- ration. . .

AN EARLY PROJECT. . .

Model: Margaret, Photo: John Frantsen

Before I started my formal education, I attended a computer-course for fashion-professionals at IN-Design in Copenhagen.

One of the projects was to design and create an outfit, to get through the whole process. . . It turned out like this asymmetrical two-piece.

My commitment at the course led to a years working experience as a teaching-assistant and further on to my formal education.

ROME EXPRESS. . .

On our way home from a fabulous cruise, we were fortunate enough to spend three hours in Rome.

Actually we managed to pass by The Spanish Stairs, The Trevi Fountain and Pantheon on our express tour through the City on our own. Of course I had to take a few snapshots of some of the fashionable boutiques on our way. . .

We´ve got a taste for more, so Rome is definately a city to visit again.

Transformation. . .

-Imagination and Inspiration are the keywords of this post.
Because customers often have a hard time to imagine something different. They need to see what they can get, before purchasing it.

The inverted pictures here are meant as a teaser, because it is not always obvious what the best solution is. I was surprised to see the very different and inspirational nuances of colours in these pictures for example. . .

That is exactly where I and my fellow collegues get into the picture; if we can convince the customer to take a chance and give them something that they didn´t expect or couldn´t imagine that they wanted. There is so many options of design, cut and colours. . .

I will leave you to wonder a bit. . . while I´m going on a Cruise next week. In the meantime, feel free to explore my previous post via labels. Thanks for pop- ping by. See you soon !

Fashion & fusion. . .

Models: Bettina, Lone and Hanne

-Was a fashion-experiment/event, that took place in the Cerimonial Hall of The City Hall in Odense, 2000. Inspired by the "dogme"-films, the concept was to make a fashionshow as simple as possible. . . which meant no shoes, no make- up etc.

It was quite exciting, because it gave me an opportunity to show what I could do and to get some attention, which is crucial when you´re a new professio- nal.

My contribution to the show, ware these three couture-gowns that kind of stod out from the rest of the participants. But I wonder if  they would still do today ? What do you think ?
